The Past
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Troop 90 was founded in 1925 for the purpose of providing young men with fun activities while teaching them to be good citizens who are strong in character and are physically fit. These four attributes are as valuable today as they were during the Great Depression.
The Current
The Troop 90 Goals for 2010 - These goals were set forth by the Scouts during our December team building / junior leader training weekend. It’s important that the Scouts have a say in the program of the Troop so they agreed to these for this year.

The Future
The Patrol Leaders’ Council would like to see the Troop grow to three patrols of 8 Scouts each. (Eight is the number that Lord Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, decided was the optimum number for a patrol.) By having a Troop of this size we would be able to have some strong intra-patrol competition as well as be able to provide a good level of service back to the community.
We are currently conducting a recruitment drive to get us to this number by the spring of 2009. Please stop by one Tuesday evening and see why our program has stood the test of time.
